SPEAKING IN SCHOOLS
Henry Johnstone is the youngest son of two high profile educationalists.
At the age of 14 he was sectioned as a threat to his own life and placed in secure hospital accommodation. Though the initial diagnosis of schizophrenia was downgrade to acute bi-polar illness, he was sectioned twice more and led a fiercely troubled life, becoming both an alcoholic and a drug user.
Finding little or no help from the medical or social services, and with the support of his family, he resolved to cure himself. Now aged 35 he has been clean for 10 years, has a degree and is a qualified and accredited coach, and will shortly marry his fiancé.
Henry is wedded to the ideal of persuading young people to avoid walking the path of his adolescent years and early 20’s. He is an outstanding speaker with a unique ability to tune in to the wavelength of young people. Educated both privately and in the maintained sector, he is at home in any environment, and is equally proficient at short talks or lengthier coaching sessions. Most of all, Henry talks to young people in a manner they relate to, and which is meaningful to them in a way few others can match.
